Senior Buyer (Travel required)

Job DescriptionGeneral Summary of Duties:
Obtaining bids from prospective vendors; placing orders; order entry and tracking.
Typical Physical/Mental Demands:
Requires mobility; prolonged sitting; ability to push or pull cabinet drawers weighing five (5) to fifteen (15) pounds; ability to lift, carry and manipulate supplies weighing up to seventy (70) pounds; bending and reaching from floor level to approximately three (3) feet in height; eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity; work accurately with basic math; properly use office equipment such as a computer, telephone, copier, fax, and scanner; ability to converse; communicates directly, telephonically and electronically with vendors, management and staff in English; requires normal vision and hearing range; understands and complies with all company and departmental policies and procedures, job description and other instructions.
Typical Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment; heavy vendor contact required; constant contact with staff and other departments; ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
Example of Duties ( includes but is not limited to the following ):
Assists internal customers in product/service specification and selection by providing professional and current information on market availability, pricing, vendor reliability, and service for consideration.
Recommends substitutes for cost reduction, early delivery, or other appropriate considerations.
Applies professional purchasing techniques during vendor negotiations, and enhances the positive perception of internal customers and outside vendors on the fairness of Caesars policies, procedures, and purchasing practices.
Establishes, maintains, and controls a system of activity documentation to ensure such activity conforms to established policies and procedures as well as ICS requirements.
Prepares analyses and reports as requested by management or internal guests, and places the order after proper procedures and approvals are made.
Creates and ensures an environment conducive to the fostering of teamwork, employee morale, motivation, and open communication.
Endorses the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars and Grand Victoria Casino.
Adheres to all regulatory, company, and department policies and procedures.
Performance Requirements ( knowledge, skills, and abilities) :
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including the ability to lift up to 20lbs, and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when stocking, storing, and maneuvering around the work area.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration preferred.
A minimum of 4 years in purchasing is preferredFood & Beverage purchasing experience preferred.
Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers/vendors.
Must possess excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, is preferred.
Certificate/License:
Level 3 Occupational License with Illinois Gaming Board.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
